On June 1, 2022, leaders from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will join aviation industry experts to report progress on the development and deployment of alternative jet fuels for commercial aviation. DOT Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Aviation and International Affairs Annie Petsonk and Acting FAA Administrator Billy Nolen will participate in the Sustainable Aviation Fuels Summit hosted by the Commercial Aviation Alternative Fuels Initiative (CAAFI). The FAA is a major sponsor of CAAFI’s ongoing effort to promote the development of alternative jet fuel that supports environmental sustainability.Panels and participants include representatives from U.S. government agencies, airlines, aircraft and engine manufacturers, energy producers, researchers and international participants. Discussion topics will include feedstock supply chains, conversion innovations, airlines and airport activities, certification, resource funding, U.S. policies and more. |
